My name is Bert Norton, and I am honored to serve as your Fire Chief. It is a privilege to lead this exceptional team of professionals who are deeply committed to protecting life, property,
and the quality of life in our community.
Mandeville Fire/EMS proudly serves a population of over 57,000 residents across a 75-square-mile area, operating from six strategically located fire stations. Our highly trained
personnel respond to a wide range of emergencies-fires, medical incidents, rescues, hazardous materials calls, and more-with professionalism, compassion, and integrity.
We are also proud to hold two of the highest distinctions in the fire service:
- A Class 1 rating from the Property Insurance Association of Louisiana (PIAL)
- National accreditation from the Center for Public Safety Excellence (CPSE)
Mandeville Fire/EMS is the only fire department in Louisiana to hold both of these honors, placing us among the most elite fire service organizations in the country. These achievements
reflect our unwavering dedication to operational excellence, continuous improvement, and community-focused service.
