Dear Members of St. Tammany Fire Protection District #4,
On behalf of the Board of Commissioners, I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to each of you for your invaluable input and engagement throughout our recent search process for our next fire chief. Selecting the right leader for our District was a critical decision, and your insights and perspectives played a significant role in ensuring that we made the best choice for our future.
This process was thorough and detailed, with several highly capable and qualified applicants from across the country and throughout the state. It was clear from the outset that the strength and dedication of our team are what make this District exceptional. Your commitment to excellence, both on the frontlines and behind the scenes, was evident in every step of this journey.
We are pleased to announce that Chief Bert Norton will be joining us as our next chief! Chief Norton brings a wealth of experience, a clear vision for the future, and a passion for community service that aligns perfectly with our mission. We are excited about the leadership and innovation he will bring to our District, and we are confident that he is the right fit to continue to guide Fire District #4 forward and keep us on a path of excellence.
In addition to welcoming Chief Norton, we also want to thank Chief Moore for his leadership and incredible service for over 41 years. He is going to be missed, and we cannot thank him enough for his leadership to our District. Chief Moore has been instrumental in so many areas of the District to include but certainly not limited to the District’s International Accreditation, PIAL Class 1 Rating, the design and buildout of our two new stations, along with so many other things.
To welcome Chief Norton, we will hold a special swearing in ceremony during our regular board meeting on Tuesday, June 17th, 6:00 PM at the Training Center. All members of Fire District #4 are invited and we will have an informal reception following our ceremony.
As we prepare to welcome Chief Norton, I want to emphasize how proud I am to serve alongside such a dedicated and professional group of individuals. Your hard work, expertise, and unwavering commitment to our community inspire me every day.
Thank you once again for your contributions to this important process. Together, we will continue to build on our successes and strive for even greater achievements in the future.
Sincerely,
Rick S. Danielson
Chairman, St. Tammany Fire Protection District #4
